Support society for oncology patients “Dzivibas koks”, which is the leading support organization of patients and their relatives and in cooperation with professionals and experts has developed oncology patient rehabilitation course program which will be implemented in 2012.
Due to the fact that there are no seats left (maximum number of seats – 30), the application for oncology patients rehabilitation camp “Speka avots” has concluded. It will take place from 7 to 12 August, in rehabilitation centre Ligatne.
When evaluating the recent events, the support society for oncology patients “Dzivibas koks” wants to join all those which believe that it is incorrect to blame the director of the Centre of Health Economics, Daiga Behmane. The reason is the fact that there is no “internal reserves” for reducing costs of drug expense and reimbursement system. In our opinion, the most important is fact that drug expense compensation system already has deficit: LVL 5 million. The question is whether the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Latvia believes that it can be done by tightening the belt?
Support society for oncology patients “Dzivibas koks”, which is the leading support organization of patients and their relatives, has developed unique informative material about the healthcare related NGOs involvement in decision-making processes. Brochure is available for free and you can download it on “Dzivibas koks” website www.dzivibaskoks.lv.
“I want to live not exist because it’s my rights,” in motivation letter writes one of the camp “Speka avots” participants when applying for this camp. And already on this Sunday, women from all Latvia met in the camp “Speka avots” in order to learn how to “live” and to get strength from professor-doctor lectures, classes of clay, dance, art therapy, as well as mutually fortifying each other. The program is developed in cooperation with Latvian leading experts and also thanks to foreign experience.
